Anthony Martial will provide 'magic moments' to Manchester United: Wayne Rooney

Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has lauded teammate Anthony Martial, saying that the new appointee will provide his club with some magical moments and will turn out to be a big player in the future.

The 29-year-old said that Martial, who became world's most expensive football teenager after joining United, is a young man who will make a big impact at United in the long run, the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

"Anthony will be a big player for us throughout the season and in the future, but we need to let him enjoy his football and I'm sure he'll bring magic moments for us," Rooney said.

"He's a young lad, we have to remember that. He's a 19-year-old who doesn't speak English and has moved over to England from France with a young family, so we have to understand that. But the start he's had has been incredible," he added.

Earlier, Martial had helped Rooney end his Premier League goal drought by setting him up for the 'knee in' in last weekend's game against Sunderland. The goal came after a barren run of over 1000 minutes from the United captain.

The club now lie at the top of the league table, and will take on Arsenal in an important clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 4 October.
