Amid countrywide protests and burning posters, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's slick spy actioner ‘Pathaan’ is ready to enthrall moviegoers. Interestingly, the action-thriller movie will also be played at the world’s highest-altitude movie theatre in Leh, Ladakh.

After years of anticipation, Leh residents are ecstatic to see SRK on the big screen. ‘Pathaan’ will be screened in the inflatable theatres in Leh.

The flick will also be released in the Mobile Digital Movie Theatres that are installed at Telegana’s Asifabad and Sardarshahar in Rajasthan and in Arunachal.

Pathaan Controversy

Before the release, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer indulged in controversy with the release of ‘Besharam Rang’song. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra fumed over the use of a saffron-colored bikini in the song that actress Deepika Padukone wore. The saffron-colored bikini also hurt the sentiments of several Hindus which ignited the ‘boycott 'Pathaan’ trend on the internet. Several Hindu priests also came forward in opposition to the film.

Censor Board

Amid protests Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), after reviewing the movie, instructed the makers to remove some shots from ‘Pathaan’, including the ‘Besharam Rang’song.

Pathaan Protests

Protests against ‘Pathaan’ were witnessed outside movie theatres across the country, specially in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and in Assam. Protestors also threatened theatres owners to not to release the movie or else they will vandalized movie theatres.

Just before its release, posters of the movie 'Pathaan' were torn and burnt outside a cinema hall in Bihar's Bhagalpur on January 24. Bajrang Dal and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists protested outside the movie hall, tore the posters of the movie and raised slogans 'Film Chalega Hall Jalega'.

Response

Amid nationwide protests, Shah Rukh Khan’s fanatics are celebrating his comeback on the big screens. Movie tickets are sold like hotcakes and people are eager to watch their favorite star on the big screens.
