The upcoming action-thriller movie ‘Pathaan’, starring Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, appears to be stirring up controversy as Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra voiced his disapproval of its recently released song ‘Besharam Rang.’

The first track of the action-thriller flick has been making headlines ever since it was released, but this time, not for the right reasons.

Mishra took to Twitter and shared a video clip of himself, talking to local media, saying that he is not sure that the Madhya Pradesh Government will allow ‘Pathaan’ to release in the state.

The MP Home Minister has objected to the choice of outfits and their ‘saffron’ colour worn by Deepika Padukone in some of the sequences.

“The costumes in the song at first glance are objectionable. Actress Deepika Padukone who supports 'Tukde Tukde gang' is in the song of the film #Pathan. The costumes are highly objectionable and the song has been shot with a dirty mindset. The scenes and costumes of the songs should be corrected, otherwise, we will consider whether or not to allow the film to be released in Madhya Pradesh,” Mishra tweeted in Hindi (rough translation in English).

Mishra demanded that some scenes and costumes in the song be changed or else the film's release in Madhya Pradesh would be in question.

The song - 'Besharam Rang' which is composed by Vishal-Sheykhar showcases the sizzling chemistry between Deepika and Shah Rukh. The song’s lyrics were written by Kumaar.

Since being released, the peppy song has won many hearts and accumulated millions of views. Now, that the movie has attracted trouble, it will be interesting to see how the makers of ‘Pathaan’ respond to it.

‘Pathaan’ stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles. the action-thriller flick is also in the news as it marks the grand comeback of SRK on the big screens after a gap of four years.

The movie is scheduled to hit theatres on January 25, 2023.
