UPSC Civil Services Exam Interview: Most weird questions asked by interviewers

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services is one of the toughest exams in India. One has to qualify three stages before becoming a civil servant. The first stage is a preliminary exam, the second is the main exam and the final stage is the interview round.

Cracking a UPSC CSE interview is not less than a victory for a candidate because it is the toughest personality test to crack in the country. UPSC has already released the admit card of the UPSC CSE main exam on its official website. The exam will be held on January 7, 2022.


Candidates who will qualify the main exam will be eligible to sit for the interview round.

Many aspirants wondered that what kind of questions are asked in the interview round.

Well, social media has been filled with questions asked in the UPSC CSE interview.

On the Quora platform, many civil services aspirants have shared the weird questions that were asked in the exam and how the candidate also replied.

One of the aspirants name, Tanya Agarwal, who appeared for the UPSC CSE interview in 2020 wrote her experience on Quora. She revealed that the interviewer had asked her about the pros of snooping.

Member: Tell me a good thing about Snooping!
Tanya: Sir, I believe snooping is a very negative term in itself.
Member: Exactly! Tell me what are its pros.
Tanya: (smiled and said) Back in school, my mother would snoop at me to check whether I am studying well. I believe her intentions behind snooping were only for my good!

The whole board started laughing.

Later on, I explained it in terms of State Surveillance and the balance between national security and individual privacy.

Another user named Aravind Avinash shared the weirdest question asked by the interviewer.

Interviewer: Which is the smallest bridge in the world?
Candidate: The bridge between my spectacles
