UP Boards: Class 12 & 10 exams to begin on 16 February
The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has announced the dates for Classes 10 and 12 examinations for the academic session 2017. Class 10 exams will commence 16 February and continue till 6 March 2017. Class 12 exams will begin on 16 February and go on till 20 March 2017.
More than 60 lakh students appear for UP Board exams each year. With board exams scheduled till 20 March, we can expect UP Vidhansabha elections to take place in April 2017 or later.
The Board is yet to release the complete date sheet for the examinations, containing details of which paper will be held on what date.
Soon, all state government boards and national boards will release their exam date schedules. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has already announced the schedule for Classes 10 and 12. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to follow soon.
In 2016, UP Boards began on 18 February while in 2015, these exams commenced 19 February.
It's rumoured that since teachers are assigned election duties, the board exams have been preponed.
