RRB Group C, D Recruitment 2018: From exam date to pattern; here’s what you should know before exam

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has still not announced the dates for the recruitment examination of Group C, D posts, the exams of which was initially scheduled to be conducted in April and May 2018. Around 1.5 crore candidates applied for nearly one lakh jobs, the notification of which was released in March. Candidates can check official notification at the website, indianrailways.gov.in.

Indian Railways will be going to conduct its first stage examination for Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician posts this week.


Candidates who are going to appear for the examination can download their admit cards as the Railway Recruitment Board has released the admit card for the posts.

As per the official notification, the Group C examination for the posts of ALP and Technician will be on 9th August which will be the first stage computer-based test. However, all the candidates have come to know about their exam venue details, date and time. Also, Indian Railways has also started two special trains between Patna to Indore and also Danapur to Secunderabad also. With this train, facility candidates can reach their exam destination which likely to be fall between these trains. The first train number is 03241 while the other train number 03253.

Before appearing for the examination, the details that each and every candidate should know is given below:

1. Check your details provided on the admit card.
2. The first stage computer-based examination for ALP and Technician will be commenced from 9th August. As per the reports, the exam dates have been decided as per the first alphabet of the candidate’s name.

Check out the examination syllabus and pattern:

The online exam will be consists of four sections:

i. Mathematics
ii. General Intelligence and Reasoning
iii. General Science
iv. General Awareness

In the mathematics section the questions will be based on Number system, BODMAS, mensuration, LCM, HCF, decimals, fractions, ratio and proportion, percentages, time and work; time and distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, algebra, geometry and trigonometry, square root, age calculations, elementary statistics calendar and clock, Pipes and cistern etc.

The questions that candidates can be asked in General Intelligence and Reasoning are from: Analogies, alphabetical and number series, coding and decoding, relationships, mathematical operations, syllogism, jumbling, data interpretation and sufficiency, conclusions and decision making, Venn diagram, similarities and differences, analytical reasoning, classification, directions, statement – arguments and assumptions etc.
From the General Science section, candidates are advised to prepare from the books of on physics, chemistry and life sciences of class 10.

While from general awareness, questions will be based on current affairs in science and technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics and other subjects of importance.
