NEET UG 2022: NTA to release medical entrance exam schedule next week; check criteria

NTA NEET UG 2022: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2022 notification next week. Therefore, students who are planning to apply for the NEET UG exam 2022 should keep their eyes on the official website- nta.ac.in.

NTA conducts the NEET entrance exam for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in online mode.


Reportedly, the NEET UG exam is expected to be held between the third or fourth week of June. However, NTA is yet to make an official announcement on the medical entrance examination.

Ahead of official notification, let’s know the eligibility criteria required for NEET-UG 2022

NEET 2022 Age Limit

To apply for NEET 2022, the minimum age limit is 17. However, the upper age limit has been challenged in the Supreme Court.

Despite SC has not announced its verdict on age limit, candidates are allowed to appear for the exam and admissions.

NEET UG: 12th Percentage Required

As per NTA NEET previous year’s brochure, the class 12 percentage required for NEET 2022 exam is separate for each category and can be listed as under.

The students belonging to an unreserved category or general category need to secure 50% marks while candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST and PWD should have obtained at least 40% and 45% respectively.

NEET UG 2022: Number of Attempts

NTA has removed the restrictions on the number of attempts for the NEET-UG examination on the basis of amendments in 2018 for NEET eligibility criteria.

Therefore, there are no restrictions on the number of attempts for NEET 2022.
