IIT Kanpur's first round of placement drive from 1 December
IIT Kanpur is all set to start with its first round of final placements for 2016-17 academic session from 1 December to 22 December. Top recruiters such as Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Indian firms and top Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs) are expected to join the recruitment drive, said the administration.
About 1,200 students have already registered for the first round of the placement drive, university officials said. The second phase will commence between February to April 2017.
Sources at IIT Kanpur's placement cell told PTI that the first round will see around 300 foreign and Indian companies and Public Sector Undertakings in the placement drive.
Meanwhile, candidates who've signed up for the placements, are being given tips to brush up their communication and interview skills. IIT Kanpur's placement drive for the previous academic session of 2015-2016 saw 90% placement rate, officials added.
