DU receives 2.5 lakh applications; English Honors top choice

Over 2.5 lakh students have registered online for undergraduate courses in Delhi University (DU). English Honors has emerged as the most preferred course.

Total numbers of candidates to apply for BA (Honors) English are 1,15,786 this year.

Overall, 2,50,220 applications have completed the registration process which included 1,29,910 male candidates, 1,20,295 female candidates and 15 from other categories, reported The Indian Express.

The number of candidates from persons with disability remained less than the total number reserved for them. Out of 1,620 total seats only 1,184 candidates applied.

However, the competition is tough in sports and ECA category with 18,000 applicants are competing for 2,700 seats.

The first cut off will be released on 30 June.

As per TOI reports, the highest number of applicants are from Delhi, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
