Yuvraj Singh, on 24 November, accompanied by his mother Shabnam Singh, reached the Rajya Sabha to visit Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi was in the Rajya Sabha to calm the Oppositions' frayed tempers due to demonetisation.

A part of the 2011 World Cup winning team, Yuvraj met PM Modi to invite the latter for his wedding, scheduled at the end of the month. The cricketer, who is tying the knot with fiancee Hazel Keech was spotted with an invite and a box of sweets.

The couple is reportedly getting married on 30 November at a gurdwara in Chandigarh. This will be followed by another wedding as per Hindu rituals - since Hazel's mother is from Uttar Pradesh - on 2 December, in Goa.

Yuvraj and Hazel's engagement was a low-key affair in Bali, Indonesia. DNA quoted Yuvraj Singh, on his marriage as saying, "You get married only once. A wedding is an occasion you want to celebrate with everyone. We were always sure we wanted to invite everyone to the wedding. It will be a three-four day affair. We will have a couple of events to make sure all my cricketer friends get to attend them."

It will be interesting to see how Singh will withdraw Rs 2.5 lakh for his wedding, given the fracas due to demonetisation!
