Five years back during a series in England, 18 year old Mohammad Aamir's cricketing career was blighted by accusations of spot fixing. He admitted to the charges.
Banned from all forms of cricket for five years, Aamir fortunately had age on his side. Now 23 and wiser, he has made a premature return to competitive cricket with the Bangladesh Premier League, in which he is playing for the Chittagong Vikings.
As he aims to be selected for the Pakistan team cricket team for the World T20 next year, he has done his chances no harm with his stellar bowling performance yesterday.
"I am really thankful to the team (Chittagong Vikings) for choosing me and I will try my best to give them my 100%", Aamir told AFP.
"The Bangladesh Premier League is the first step towards reviving my international career."
