Sunrisers Hyderabad’s head coach Tom Moody broke down after the Indian Premier League 2019 eliminator against Delhi Capitals. Tom Moody couldn’t control his emotions looking at his team on the losing side. Former Australian cricketer could not hold back his tears after SRH lost their fourth eliminator in IPL history.

Sunrisers Hyderabad were asked to bat first after Delhi Capitals won the toss in Visakhapatnam. Kane Williamson’s SRH was restricted to 162 runs in 20 overs with Martin Guptill scoring the highest run of 36. Manish Pandey (30), Kane Williamson (28), Vijay Shankar (25) and Mohammad Nabi (20) were the other batsmen who contributed with their bats but couldn’t really take off.

Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan opened the batting for Hyderabad. Shaw was looking really good as he was hitting the ball well. Shaw scored 56 runs from 38 balls. Shikhar Dhawan couldn’t score much as he was dismissed for 17 runs, while skipper Shreyas Iyer for just 8 runs. Rishabh Pant came in and played one of the best innings of his life as he scored 49 off 21 to change the game upside down. Keemo Paul in the end finished the game with a boundary off Khaleel Ahmed’s ball from just 2 balls to spare.

Delhi Capitals won the play-off match for the first time in IPL history. They will now play Chennai Super Kings in the second qualifier on May 10. This was Delhi Capitals’s first play-off qualification since 2012.
