Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed faced a lot of criticism after losing the crucial match against arch-rival India. Fans went on to criticise his eating habits and few even fat shammed him. But Sarfaraz silenced his critics after taking a wonderful flying catch in a match against New Zealand.

Sarfaraz Ahmed took the catch to dismiss New Zealand wicket-keeper Tom Latham in the 13th over of the game off Shaheen Afridi’s ball. Sarfaraz took the amazing one-handed flying catch while diving towards his right. Latham had to go after making just 1 run and New Zealand was struggling at 46-4.

New Zealand went on to make 237-6 thanks to James Neesham’s brilliant batting. Neesham scored an unbeaten 97 runs off 112 balls which included 3 sixes and 5 fours. Colin de Grandhomme also scored an important 64 runs before he was run out by Amir and Sarfaraz.

Sarfaraz Ahmed faced flak from his countrymen after Pakistan’s poor show against India in Manchester on June 16. A video went viral on social media where a fan called Sarfaraz a ‘fat pig’ in a mall in England when the captain was with his son. Sarfaraz made a few changes in the next game and defeated South Africa by 49 runs.
