Virat Kohli's admirer Babar Azam registers a tremendous record as Pakistan cricketer

Babar Azam a staunch admirer of Indian skipper Virat Kohli registered a tremendous record as Pakistan cricketer. Babar Azam scored the highest number of runs by a Pakistan batsman in a World Cup edition. Babar Azam with the help of his 96 run knock surpassed the previous best record set by Javed Miandad.

Javed Miandad scored 437 runs in the 1992 edition of the World Cup while Babar Azam scored 474 runs in 2019. Babar Azam had a great World Cup this year as he scored 22 against West Indies, 63 against England, 30 against Australia, 48 against India, 69 against South Africa, 101 against New Zealand, 45 against Afghanistan and 96 against Bangladesh.


 

Babar Azam also broke Virat Kohli’s record to become the second fastest batsman in the world to score 3000 ODI runs. Hashim Amla is the fastest in the world.

Pakistan is out of the semi-final race as they are playing now to end the World Cup on a high. New Zealand has qualified for the number four spot.
