Indian skipper Virat Kohli is all praises for India bowlers who easily crushed South Africa in the third and final test in Ranchi. This culminated into 3-0 whitewash of South Africa in the test series.
During the award ceremony, Indian captain Virat Kohli showed satisfaction at being able to take the tough and right decision at the right time. "We removed the extra cushion provided to the batsmen and gave extra cushion to bowling," Kohli said. In the Ranchi test match, the Indian team went ahead with five bowlers. As a result, instead of seven batsmen, Kohli decided to play with only six regular batsmen.
The decision to play with extra bowler paid off as the Indian batsmen played exceptionally well. As a result, there were plenty of runs on board for Indian bowlers to decimate South Africa and handover a comprehensive inning and 202 runs defeat.
We need to deliver in every aspect of the game and be prepared to take tough decisions as and when required, Kohli said.
South Africa were tamed for 162 in their first innings. Their second innings was no different as India bowled them out for a paltry 133.
Umesh Yadav picked up figures of 3-40 and 2-35 while Mohammed Shami's numbers read 2-22 and 3-10. Shahbaz Nadeem picked up two wickets in each innings.
