Suresh Raina to replace Ambati Rayudu in Indian ODI squad for England series

Suresh Raina, T20 specialist called up for a replacement for Ambati Rayudu in the One-Day International (ODI)  squad against England after the 32-year-old Hyderabadi batsman Ambati Rayudu failed to clear the Yo-Yo fitness test.

India’s tour of England begins on July 3 with the limited-overs leg of three T20Is followed by three ODIs comencing from 12th July. From August 1 to September 11, India will take on England in a five-match Test series.


The middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu given his services to MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in the recently concluded IPL 2018 has failed the Yo-Yo test at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru on Friday ahead of England tour.

Limited over specialist Raina last played for India in an ODI back in 2015 against South Africa where he scored 12 runs.

India’s squad for ODIs against England:

Virat Kohli (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Siddarth Kaul, Umesh Yada.
