Sri Lanka and South Africa are playing the 35th match of World Cup 2019. South Africa captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to field first. The bowlers started really well for the Proteas as Kagiso Rabada dismissed Dimuth Karunaratne off the very first ball of the innings.

Dimuth Karunaratne became the first Sri Lankan batsman to get out for a golden duck in a World Cup match. Earlier in the tournament, New Zealand openers Martin Guptill and Colin Munro both were dismissed in the very first over of the game by West Indies bowler Sheldon Cottrell. Both Guptill and Munro were dismissed for a golden duck.

South Africa bundled out Sri Lanka for 203 runs in 49.3 overs. Kusal Perera and Avishka Fernando were the highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka as they both scored 30 runs each. Chris Morris and Dwaine Pretorius were the highest wicket-taker for South Africa with three wickets each.

Kagiso Rabada took two wickets to his name while Andile Phehlukwayo and JP Duminy took one each. South Africa’s star spinner Imran Tahir went wicket-less.

In reply, South Africa is comfortably cruising towards the target as they have scored 111-1 at the time of publishing this story. Quinton de Kock was dismissed by Lasith Malinga for 15 runs, while Hashim Amla has already scored a Half-century. Skipper Faf du Plessis is batting at 35.
