Sarfraz-led Pakistan team beat World XI by 33 runs, seal Independence Cup 2017

Riding on their splendid batting execution, Pakistan team defeated World XI by 33 runs and sealed the Independence Cup series 2-1 on 15th September.

The hosts displayed a brilliant batting performance by posting a challenging score of 183/4 in the allotted 20 overs.


In reply, World XI only managed to score 150 runs.

After winning the toss, World XI failed to click as Pakistan's Ahmed Shazad (89) and Babar Azam (48) who thrashed the visitors all around the ground.

From World XI's side Sri Lanka's Thisara Perera scalped two wickets.

West Indies' Daren Sammy (24), England's David Miller (32) and Perera (32) attempted to balance out the innings towards the end however while endeavoring to pace up the innings, they were additionally expelled.

Brief scores: Pakistan 183/4 in 20 overs (Ahmed Shehzad 89, Babar Azam 48; Thisara Perera 2-37) vs World XI 150/8 in 20 overs (Thisara Perera 32; Hasan Ali 2-27) by 33 runs.
