Batting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar has undergone a knee surgery at a hospital in London.

Tendulkar posted a picture of his left leg, covered in a black cast, on his Twitter handle and commented that he hopes to recover soon.

"Some injuries trouble even after retirement, but I will be back very soon doing the things I enjoy. Had a knee operation & resting," the iconic batsman wrote.

Apart from tweeting his photo with a knee brace, former Indian cricketer also lauded Roger Federer for his sensational comeback against Marin Cilic to reach the Wimbledon semifinals. Seven-time champion Federer came back from two sets down to march ahead in the tournament.

Tendulkar also wished his fans and followers "Eid Mubarak" on 7 July.

Last month, the holy trinity of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman picked Anil Kumble as team India's next head coach.

The post of head coach had fallen with the expiry of Duncan Fletcher's contract at the end of the ICC World Cup 2015. Ravi Shastri had run the team as its director since the ODI series against England in August 2014. Shastri's contract ended after the 2016 World T20.
