Rohit Sharma to become the first player to play baseball and cricket
Ace Indian batsman has been invited by Major League Baseball club Seattle Mariners to throw the first pitch. He is the first Indian cricketer who has been given this honour. Rohit Sharma has been at the centre of the Indian batting line up for some time now. He has played many of the crucial innings that have been significant in taking the team to its presently dominant position.
He will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Safeco Field, home ground of Seattle Mariners, at 12:30 pm Pacific Standard Time on June 3, (which would be 1am on June 4 as per Indian time) as a pregame activity against the Tampa Bay Rays, a media release issued here said.
The game of baseball hold national importance in America and as a ritual, guests of honour are called and invited to throw the first ceremonial pitch.
