Rohit Sharma overtakes Virat Kohli to become leading run-scorer in ODIs in 2019

Indian opener Rohit Sharma on Wednesday became the leading run getter in the limited over format in 2019.

He accomplished this milestone against West Indies during the ongoing second ODI of their three match series at Vishakapatnam.


Rohit Sharma also went on the knock his seventh century of this calender year and in the process also overtook his skipper Virat Kohli to achieve the feat.

The 32-year-old so far has 1,382 runs in the ODI format in 2019 while Indian skipper has 1,292 runs to his credit.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma had knocked five centuries in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. As a result, he became the first batsman to register five 100 plus score in a single edition of the tournament.

During the innings, he also went past 11,000 list A runs. While filing this story, India had reached the score of 292 for 3.
