Indian cricketer MS Dhoni had become a one-stop go for selectors over the past few years. But now speculations about MS Dhoni’s retirement are coming into light. There is not much cricket left in MS Dhoni and he will have to retire anytime soon. That’s the harsh reality Indian fans are finding hard to deal with.

But the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) doesn’t work on emotions and they are already making their intentions clear that the future of Indian wicket-keeping will be Rishabh Pant. India’s chief selector MSK Prasad announced the team for India’s tour of West Indies and Rishabh Pant has been selected as the main wicket-keeper for all three formats.

In the press conference held at later this afternoon, MSK Prasad made it clear that they want to groom Rishabh Pant as India’s next wicket-keeper batsman. “He (Dhoni) is unavailable for this series. We had certain roadmaps till World Cup and we subsequently have some plans and we want to groom Pant and that is the plan right now. Pant hasn't done anything wrong for his non-inclusion in the playing XI,” Prasad said.

India will play a three-match T20I and ODI series against West Indies before playing a two-match Test series. The Test series will be part of the ICC’s inaugural Test Championship. India’s tour of West Indies will start from August 3 in the United States of America.
