You must have noticed that players are given cash awards after a cricket match is over. This awards are given on performance basis. A replica of cheques are given to players, who perform well. These replicas are just for promotional activity and a photo ops moment.

The recently concluded ODI series between India and West Indies had these moments. After the final ODI match played in Thiruvananthapuram was over, Ravindra Jadeja was given the 'Man of the Match' award for his four wicket haul against the Windies.

Do you know, what happens to the replicas given to players before their promotions and photo opportunities? Here you see it, that becomes someone else's liability.

A NGO, who posted a picture of the replica on their facebook page criticised BCCI for their ignorance towards the enviornment and asked the governing board for cricket in India to consider options to reduce the plastic or non bio degradable materials during cricket matches.
