Ravindra Jadeja pulls off an absolute blinder to dismiss Neil Wagner [Video]

Indian cricketer Ravinder Jadeja, plausibly the best fielder in the world, took an overwhelmingly impressive catch to dismiss Neil Wagner on Day 2 of the second Test between India and New Zealand in Christchurch on Sunday.

Wagner played a pull shot off pacer Mohammed Shami’s delivery and Jadeja, positioned at square leg, ran backwards, jumped high in the air and caught the ball in his left hand. With great judgement and control.

The all-rounder grabbed a one-handed stunner to break the partnership between Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner that was exasperating the men in blue.

Soon after the catch, Twitter was flooded with high praise for Ravindra Jadeja as some fans dubbed it as ‘the catch of the year’

A gutsy spell of bowling led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami gave the men in blue a seven run first innings lead over the Black Caps. It took a brilliant knock from Kyle Jamieson, to scale down the deficit as India stumbled to mop up the New Zealand tail.

The last three batsmen put up 82 runs, 49 of them was scored by Jamieson to underscore his all-rounder credentials after scalping five wickets.

The Black Caps started the day at 63 without loss and were bundled out for 235 at tea as the men in blue enjoyed their best day in the series.
