Young Prithvi Shaw will not play the first Test against Australia in Adelaide due to an ankle injury. Shaw might be ruled out of India vs Australia series if he is not able to recover in time.

The 19-year-old batsman injured his ankle while fielding on the deep mid-wicket on the third day of the practice match being played against Cricket Australia XI. Max Bryant of Australia XI hit a ball off Umesh Yadav when Pritvi standing on the fence caught the ball, Shaw twisted his ankle while landing and was in lot of pain. He was carried off the field by Indian physio Patrick Farhart and taken to the nearest hospital for scans.

After the injury of Prithvi Shaw it means that Murali Vijay and KL Rahul have sealed a place for themselves in the first Test against Australia.

Shaw hit an amazing 66 runs in the second day of the practice match against Cricket Australia XI. While Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Cheteshwar Pujara all scored half-century each.
