Explosive Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw has made his return to the Indian national side for the home T20I series against New Zealand in January. Citing his high strike rate and range of strokes, fans wanted him back in Indian set-up, especially white-ball cricket. Ranji Trophy 2021-22


The batter had a solid Ranji 2021-22. In this competition, he scored 355 runs in 10 innings across six games at an average of 35.50, with three half-centuries and a best of 72.

Duleep Trophy 2022-23Shaw was in top-form in Duleep Trophy 2022-23 for West Zone. He played an instrumental role in their title win, scoring 315 runs in two matches, three innings at an average of 105.00, with two centuries and a fifty.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022-23

Shaw was the 2nd highest run-scorer in the tournament and guided Mumbai to their first-ever triumph in the country's top T20 domestic title. In 10 matches, he scored 332 runs in 10 innings at an average of 36.88, with one century and one half-century. His strike rate stood at 181.42.

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022-23

The batter had a modest Vijay Hazare Trophy as he scored 217 runs in seven innings with two fifties.

Maiden Ranji triple ton (January 2023)

The 2022-23 Ranji Trophy arrived and Shaw struggled in the initial innings, scoring only 160 runs in seven innings with a fifty. But a defining moment of his career came against Assam and he scored 379, his maiden triple ton, Mumbai's highest score in Ranji and overall 2nd-highest Ranji scorer after Bhausaheb Nimbalkar (443* in 1948).
