Newly-appointed Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq’s salary was revealed by a local news channel: Geo News. While neither Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) nor Misbah-ul-Haq disclosed the exact amount the former Pakistan captain is withdrawing for his role as head coach. Misbah after being appointed as Pakistan head coach said he didn’t make any salary demands, he just asked them to pay what they were paying the previous coach Mickey Arthur.

According to a Geo News report, the former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq is receiving Rs 3.4 crore per annum, which is way lesser than the Indian coach Ravi Shastri, who is reportedly withdrawing Rs 9.5 to 10 crore per annum.

Misbah-ul-Haq’s first challenge as Pakistan head coach will come when the Men in Green will play a bilateral series against Sri Lanka at home. Misbah-ul-Haq also requested all the cricket playing nations to make sure that they play cricket in Pakistan on a regular basis.

Senior Sri Lankan players opted out of the series citing security concerns but their board will send the team after Pakistan government confirmed that they will be provided head-of-state like security.

All three ODIs between Pakistan and Sri Lanka are slated to be played at Karachi while the three T20 internationals will be played in Lahore on Oct. 5, 7 and 9.
