Pakistan cricket team is out of the World Cup after finishing fifth on the points table. Pakistan finished the preliminary stage with 11 points to their name but couldn’t qualify because of their net run-rate. The number fourth-placed team New Zealand also had 11 points but they qualified because of their superior run-rate.

Pakistan team will get Rs 2.24 crore despite not qualifying for the semi-final. As per the International Cricket Council (ICC) teams get Rs 28 lakhs for winning a match in the league stage, Rs 14 lakhs for an abandoned match and Rs 70 lakhs for playing league stage.

So, Pakistan won five matches in the preliminary stage and one was abandoned due to rain. 70 lakhs (for playing league stage) + 5 × 28 lakhs (for winning five matches) + 14 lakhs (for an abandoned match) = 2.24 crore. Pakistan will get Rs 2.24 crore by the ICC.

The champion of the ongoing World Cup in England and Wales will be awarded Rs 28 crore, which is highest if compared to previous World Cups. The runner-up will get Rs 14 crore and the semi-finalists will get Rs 5.5 crore each.
