Mithali Raj ignored by BCCI, Harmanpreet Kaur recommended for Arjuna Award

At a time when Indian Skipper Mithali Raj should be showered with gifts and praises for leading Indian women's cricket team to the ICC world cup final, it seems that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has failed to recognise her performance. The Indian Board did not send the name of Mithali Raj for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award.

Recently, Mithali Raj created history by becoming the leading run-scorer in women's One Day International (ODI) cricket and the entire nation hailed her performance in the tournament. Raj should be the front runner for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award. However, according to reports, the BCCI did not send her name.

BCCI, however, recommended the names of Harmanpreet Kaur and Cheteshwar Pujara for Arjuna Award.
