MI vs DD

Mumbai lost to Delhi Daredevils by 11 runs.

Delhi won the toss and decided to bat first. The start was not so smooth for the team as Prithvi Shaw got run out on a throw by Hardik Pandya by his very own mistake. However, Rishabh Pant came down as a saviour and added 64 off 44 balls and steered DD towards a respectable score.

Eyeing a playoff berth, defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) came down to chase 175 to seal a spot in the play-off against. Delhi Daredevils after Rishabh Pant’s aggressive fifty in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Sunday.

While Delhi have nothing to lose after being already out of the race for the playoffs, the Rohit Sharma-led side still have a chance to advance to the next stage, which only a win in their last league encounter and better net run-rate (NRR) could guarantee them. Apart from Mumbai, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) share 12 points each and with a sole match remaining for them, any of the four could make to the final four.

The road got more and more difficult for the Mumbai Indians as Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya went down. With seven men down, Mayank Markande and Ben Cutting looked struggling on the pitch. The run rate got bigger and bigger.

Amit Mishra and Lachhimane were the two key bowlers for DD, both of whom hunted down 3 Mumbai men.
