Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga backs former India captain MS Dhoni amidst all the criticism for his slow approach. Malinga believes that MS Dhoni can play international cricket for another one or two years. MS Dhoni who was at the receiving end for play a slow inning against Afghanistan and West Indies in the ongoing World Cup gets Malinga’s support.
“I think MS (Dhoni) should play for another one or two years. He is the best finisher in the last 10 years. I don’t think anyone can beat him in the future. He has to give his experience and situation handling to all the young players. They (India) have good experience in past captain MS Dhoni. I think that’s why they are a successful team. I think they are good enough to beat any team in this competition,” Malinga told ANI.
Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar also criticised MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav for not firing up during Afghanistan clash and also questioned their intent. Sachin said that he was not happy with the partnership between Kedar and Dhoni as he felt that it was very slow.
Malinga also backed Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami as he said that they are the most accurate bowlers in the world.
India will play against Sri Lanka on July 6 in their last league stage match. India has already qualified for the semi-final race while Sri Lanka is out of the tournament and will only play to end the World Cup on a high.
