The 18th match between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders has come to an end as after being interrupted with rain Kings XI Punjab won the match by defeating Dinesh Karthik's team Kolkata Knight Riders. After winning the toss skipper R Ashwin called Kolkata Knight Riders to bat first.
Shah Rukh Khan-owned team came to bat first and set the target of 192 runs in front of R Ashwin led team Kings Xi Punjab. When Kings XI Punjab came to chase the score then their opener KL Rahul and Chris Gayle made a storm batting that helped Kings XI Punjab to get a strong start in their first 10 overs.
However, the match got interrupted due to rain and it took a long time to start the match over again. Well, the Duckworth Lewis method came to the match and in the last KXIP had to make 9 runs on 13 balls. That KXIP reached by loosing 1 wicket of KL Rahul.
Both the teams have variety as well as variation in their bowling department but they have struggled on the ground in stopping the opposition batsmen. The two captains in this match – Dinesh Karthik and Ravichandran Ashwin – have read the game well, have been aggressive with their decision making, and have impressed with how they’ve utilised the resources at their disposal.
