Irfan Pathan birthday special: A look at Vadodara lad's famous love affairs
India former pacer Irfan Pathan is celebrating his 32nd birthday on 27th October and he has been always compared to Pakistan's great fast bowler Wasim Akram.
The 'king of swing' is that bowler who gave befitting reply in a match by taking hat-trick against arch rival Pakistan after a spat with former Pakistani batsman Javed Miandad.
In 2006, Miandad said that the bowlers like Irfan plays on every street.
Irfan's career was full of challenges and difficulties but the pacer came out of every difficult phase in his life. He used to live in a small house in Gujarat's Vadodara and used to practice cricket in a Mosque with his elder brother Yusuf Pathan.
Irfan, with his innocence and curly hair, ruled the hearts of girls inside and outside the stadium.
Irfan Pathan's love affair
Pathan's affair got plenty of headlines when his career was on peak. However, the pacer is now married to Safa Baig and has a son.
Significantly, Irfan, reportedly, had a long affair with the Indian diplomat's daughter Shivangi in Australia. Both were in the relationship for 10 years.
Pathan and Shivangi met in 2003 in South Australia’s cosmopolitan coastal capital, Adelaide. The series of dating progressed gradually and soon both of them came closer.
In 2003, India was on tour to Australia and after completing the series against Kangaroos, the bowler did not return and stayed there for a few days.
During this tour, it was exposed that there is something going on between Irfan and Shivangi.
There were reports that Shivangi also came to India and stayed in Vadodara for nearly three years.
And later, they got ready to tie the knot with each other but the families from both the sides were not satisfied for the marriage proposal but later they agreed.
In 2012, for some reasons the difference between Irfan and Shivangi kept increasing and their love story was on the verge to end.
If the sources were to be believed, Irfan wanted his elder brother Yusuf to get married first, but Shivangi opposed the move and was not ready to delay her marriage with Irfan.
Irfan did not change his decision and thus with in short period of time the relationship with Shivangi ended like a film story.
Irfan Pathan finally ties knot with Safa Baig
After brother Yusuf's marriage, Irfan tied knot to Indian origin Jeddah model Safa Baig who is 10 year younger to him. The weeding of cricketer with model took place in Saudi Arabia in 2016.
Safa is basically an Indian origin model but she is more famous in Middle East.
She has also featured on the cover page of Fashion Magazine and currently working in a PR firm in Jeddah. Irfan Pathan and Safa had met in Dubai.
Irfan and his family kept the whole event away from the media coverage and kept it secret.
