Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 auction is all set to take place in Kolkata on 19th December. Many world class cricketers will be among 332 players going up for grabs.

Here are five cricketers who could go for big money when the eight teams place their bid in Kolkata.

Glenn Maxwell:

Maxwell surprised the cricketing world when he recently took a break due to mental health issues. He returned to domestic cricket last month and put his name in the IPL auction having featured previously for Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils.

The 31-year-old has cumulated 1,397 runs in the IPL at an average of 22.9 at a strike rate of 161.13. He is one of the Aussies who has a base price of 20 million rupees.

Eoin Morgan

Eoin Morgan:

Having led England to their first ICC World Cup in July, Morgan will be a hot prospect again having set his base price at 15 million.

Morgan last featured for Kings XI Punjab in 2017 and went unsold last year, but that is not likely to happen this time around given his deeds in the quadrennial event which includes record 17 sixes against Afghanistan.

Jason Roy

Jason Roy:

Roy was a key to England’s World Cup triumph with a hundred and four fifties. Deemed as one of the most destructive opener Roy could trigger a bidding war given his strike rate of more than 145 in T20s and a base price of 15 million rupees.

He previously featured for now inoperative Gujarat Lions and Delhi Capitals.

Playing for the Paarl Rocks in the domestic Mzansi Super League, Shamshi has had many chances to perform the nimbleness of fingers, scalping 14 wickets in nine outings and he has set his base price at five million rupees.

Shimron Hetmyer

Shimron Hetmyer:

Building his reputation as the new big hitting weapon, the 22 year old have done no harm to his base price with a sparkling career best 139 in West Indies’ ODI win against India on Sunday.

The youngster who was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore may turn out to be a big mistake, Hetmeyer knocked 11 fours and seven maximums during his 106 ball innings, but denied that he had an eye on the auction.

"I wasn't thinking about that too much, said Hetmeyer who has a base price of five million rupees ($70 000).
