IPL 2019 CSK vs RCB: Chennai Super Kings beat Bangalore by 7 wickets, Harbhajan Singh shines

World’s biggest T20 league has started and the opener is between India’s two biggest superstars. After winning the toss MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings opted to bowl first and they were straight away setting the stage on fire. Virat Kohli and men were toppled for just 70 runs in 17.1 overs, this was sixth lowest score in IPL history. CSK needed just 71 runs to win the match and they chased it down in 17.4 overs.

Earlier, Harbhajan Singh demolished Royal Challengers Bangalore’s top-order as skipper Virat Kohli was his first prey. Kohli lost his wicket for just six runs as he was caught by Ravindra Jadeja at long-on. Moeen Ali was the second batsman that RCB lost fewer than 30 runs. Ali was bowled and caught by Harbhajan Singh for just 9 runs.


South African batsman AB de Villiers was the only hope left for RCB but he was too out for just 9 runs. De Villiers played a shot on Harbhajan Singh’s first ball of the last over but Imran Tahir missed the catch. But it didn’t take long to get him out as in the next ball he was caught by Ravindra Jadeja.

Debutant Shimron Hetmyer lost his wicket on an unfortunate term as he was run out by Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni. Hetmyer was sent back to pavilion for a golden duck.

Imran Tahir picked up his first wicket as all-rounder Shivam Dube was caught by Shane Watson at slips for just 2 runs. Colin deGrandhomme was picked up by Ravindra Jadeja in the 11th over as RCB were 50-6.

Navdeep Saini went for just 2 runs when Imran Tahir bowled him a short ball and was caught by Watson at the slips. Umpire didn't give him out but MS Dhoni went for a review and the decision was changed to out.

Yuzvendra Chahal became Imran Tahir's third prey as he was bowled out for 4 runs and was caught by Harbhajan Singh.

Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir picked up three wickets each, while Ravindra Jadeja picked up two. Dwayne Bravo picked up one.

Shane Watson was bowled out by Yuzvendra Chahal for a golden duck in the third over. Suresh Raina was dismissed for 19 off 21 hy Moeen Ali after he completed his 5,000 runs in IPL and became the first player to do so in IPL history. Ambati Rayudu was dismissed for 28 runs off 42 balls by Mohammed Siraj in his first over.

Kedar Jadhav and Ravindra Jadeja finished the game for Chennai Super Kings as Jadhav made 13 off 19 while Jadeja made 6 off 15.

Yuzvendra Chahal, Moeen Ali and Mohammed Siraj took one wicket each. Chahal took 1-4 and gave away just six runs, while Siraj took 1 wickets and gave away 5 runs from 2 overs. Ali bowled 4 overs and gave away 19 runs.
