IPL 2018 Grand Finale, SRH v CSK: Quick look on the stats ahead of VIVO IPL Final

The stage is set for the summit clash between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Big names are present in rosters of CSK and SRH. The Yellow Guns and Orange Army put their possible efforts to cease the VIVO IPL trophy in their Cabinet,a glory for which they have thrived for in past 54 days of the T20 league.

 


Records are broken and made in the cash-rich Indian Premiere League. Here is quick look on the stats made so far in the previous seasons of the IPL including IPL 2018…

The Chennai Super Kings will be making their seventh appearance in an IPL final, while Sunrisers Hyderabad will be playing in their second final.

The team batting first has won 7 of the previous 10 IPL Finals.

Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan was the highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket in 2017 with 80 wickets at an average of 14.75 and an economy rate of 5.53. He is also the joint highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket in 2018 with 38 wickets at an average of 17.42 with economy rate of 6.36.

 

In overall nine matches, Chennai Super Kings managed to won 7 matches while Sunrisers Hyderabad won only 2.

CSK skipper MS Dhoni has scored 87 runs off the sultan of swing Bhuvneshwar Kumar without getting dismissed in IPL – the most a player scored against him without getting dismissed.

CSK lost 16 wickets in the powerplay overs during the league stages matches, the least by any team while SRH lost 22 wickets in the powerplay overs during the league stage matches.

SRH scalped 32 wickets in the death overs during the league stage matches of this season, the second most by any team.

In overall three matches in year 2018 Chennai Super Kings won all the three matches while failed to won any match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Thala MS Dhoni have lost their last three IPL Finals in year 2012, 2013 and 2015 and failed to won the IPL since picking up back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011.

Suresh Raina has an exceptional record in IPL finals. He scored 209 runs in six innings at an average of 41.80 and a strike rate of 163.28.Raina is also close to a big landmark, he needs 47 more runs to become the first player to 5000 IPL runs.

CSK skipper MS Dhoni will be playing his 8th IPL final.

MS Dhoni led CSK in 6 previous IPL finals. He was part of the Rising Pune Supergiant team that finished runner-up in 2017.
