India vs New Zealand first ODI: Virat Kohli set to complete his double century in ODI appearance

After completing a golden run against Australia in 5 matches ODI series, the men in blue will do their best to win the three matches bilateral series against New Zealand in 50-over format.

The Indian team is being led by Virat Kohli. When the Indian skipper will play at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the first ODI match against New Zealand on 22 October, the match will be his 200th match in limited over series.

If Virat Kohli will play in first ODI match against New Zealand the 28-year-old cricketer will become 72 cricketer across the globe and 13th Indian player to achieve the feat. Other than Virat, only 12 Indian cricketers have played 200 match in International cricket in limited over series.

Virat Kohli is currently at the peak of his batting career, the cricketer is writing history in every game with his bat. The cricketer has scored a total 8,767 runs with strike rate of 91.47 and an average of 55.13 in 191 innings after playing 199 matches.

On Sunday at Wankhede in first ODI match against New Zealand, the cricketer also have the chance to leave Ricky Ponting behind in the number of Centuries in an ODI match. Currently, Virat has scored 30 ODI centuries is at par with former Australia captain Ricky Ponting. Virat is only behind batting legend Sachin Tendulkar in terms of the number of centuries who has 49 centuries to his name.

Not only this but If men in blue managed to defeat New Zealand it will also be India's 50th win over New Zealand.
