India Vs England, 2nd Test, Day 1: Here's the list of player's who scalped most wickets at a venue in Test cricket

Joe Root led England cricket team defeated India in their 1000th Test at Edgbaston. Now Virat Kohli is all set to face England in the second Test, starting today at Lord's. The battle dealyed for the couple of minutes due to rain.

Indian team have won two out of the 17 Tests they’ve played at Lord’s and lost 11 Test match at the venue.


After losing the opening Test at Edgbaston, Virat Kohli's brigade will take confidence from the fact that Lord’s is the venue of their last Test win in England, back in 2014.

Most wickets at a venue in Test cricket

  • English Paceman James Anderson scalped 94 wickets from 22 games.
  • Heath Streak scalped 83 wickets from 18 games at Harare Sport's club.
  • Dennis Lille scalped 82 wickets from 14 games at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
  • Chaminda Vaas scalped 80 wickets from 21 games at Colombo.
  • Stuart Broad 78 wickets from 20 games at Lord's.

After losing the opening Test match by 31 runs at Edgbaston cricket ground in Birmingham but now the visitors have a chance to prove themselves at the home cricket, Lord’s.

For India, Cheteshwar Pujara will once again fight for his place with Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul while the chances of either Kuldeep Yadav or Jadeja playing at Lord’s are high.

But Indian team pace battery is still pretty formidable and has enough variation to trouble the English batsmen.

Virat Kohli led Indian cricket team would expect its floundering batsmen to take more responsibility in pursuit of a series-levelling victory in the second Test match against England at Lord's.

Asian teams have won three and drawn two Tests at Lord's since 2014.

English Paceman James Anderson needs 6 more wickets to becomes the first fast bowler and second bowler after Muralitharan to take 100 wickets at a particular venue.

Rahane averages 64.50 in the second Test of a series compared to 25.75 in the first match of a series (including one-off Tests). He hits five ton out of nine tons in the second innings of the Test.
