Ind vs Aus: At stumps on Day 1, Cheteshwar Pujara 'The one-man Army' takes India to 303-4

At stumps on Day 1 of the forth Test in Sydney, India finished the day at 303-4 with Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari still on the pitch and continue Tomorrow. Pujara smashed 130 runs off 250 balls and Hanuma made 39 runs from the 58 balls he faced.

Earlier in the Day, Mayank Agarwal made a blistering 77 runs off 112 balls while KL Rahul continued his poor streak of performances. Virat Kohli was caught by Paine off Hazlewood’s ball when he was on 23.


Josh Hazlewood was the most economical in the Australian lot as he took 2 wickets from the 20 overs he bowled and gave away 51 runs at an economy rate of 2.55. Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon both took a wicket each under their name while Marnus Labuschange was the most expensive bowler who gave away 25 runs from the 4 overs he bowled.

Earlier in the day, Virat Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest to reach 19,000 international runs. The 30-year-old achieved this feat in just 399 innings during the forth Test against Australia in Sydney in comparison to Sachin’s 432 innings.

India and Australia are currently playing a four match Test series, where India is 2-1 up and have retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India won the first and third Test while Australia went on to win the second Test.

Both the teams will also play a three match ODI series starting from January 12. The first match will be played in the Sydney Cricket Ground.
