Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar has come under scanner for his dismal performance in the ongoing edition of the ICC World Cup 2019. Coming to bat at number four spot the all rounder has failed to display his skill. In the match against West Indies Vijay Shankar scored just 14 runs before he was sent back to the pavilion by Kemar Roach.

Batting at number four against Afghanistan, Vijay Shankar was dismissed on 29. Before that, Shankar scored 15 runs against Pakistan while batting at number six.

Vijay Shankar has come under a lot of criticisms from both fans and critics because of his incapability to play huge innings in big matches.

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has also expressed his opinion on Twitter saying that Shankar might just get one chance to prove himself.

"As for brass tacks - India can be happy about the win but must look to address the batting issues starting with putting pressure on KL Rahul to get the big one once he gets a start and I guess, one more game for Vijay Shankar," Manjrekar tweeted.

Vijay Shankar wasn’t either used for bowling by skipper Virat Kohli in India’s last two games.

As a consequence, many fans have been upset by his inclusion in the playing XI over Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik. The cloud of uncertainty looms over Vijay Shankar as the clash against England might be a last chance for him to show what he is capable of.

Vijay Shankar dismissal inspired a meme fest on Twitter. Here are some tweets.
