ICC Test Rankings 2018: Despite the ban, Steve Smith steals the show in the latest test rankings; Virat Kohli held on the second position

ICC has released the test player rankings list in which Indian Test cricket skipper Virat Kohli has retained on the second position on Wednesday. Virat Kohli has scored a total of 912 points to remain on the 2nd position, 17 points behind Australia's Steve Smith, who is comfortably placed at the top of the Test player ranking. Pujara, on the other hand, had 810 points.

Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara held on the seventh position in the latest ICC Test Player Rankings. Ravichandran Ashwin, Indian Test spinner slipped on the fifth position in the bowlers ranking with 803 points, while Ravindra Jadeja is on the second position in the all-rounders ranking released by the ICC.

South Africa opener player Aiden Markram registered his ninth position among the top batsmen ranking, which also took into account performances in the drawn second Test between New Zealand and England in Christchurch.

The Australia newly appointed skipper, Tim Paine has jumped to 8th position to 53rd position whereas the England captain Joe Root moved up one place to the third. Wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow was up by three places to 13th and Mark Stoneman moved 14 places to 64th.
