ICC fans' moment of the year 2018 is India's U-19 cricket world cup win against Australia

The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently conducted a poll on social media and asked fans to vote for their favorite moment from the year. With 48% of the vote, India’s triumph in New Zealand to claim their fourth Under-19 Cricket World Cup was voted by the fans as the ICC Fans’ moment of the year 2018.

India under the leadership of Prithvi Shaw and coach Rahul Dravid won the World Cup against Australia by 8 wickets. Australia batted first and were all out for 216 runs after they won the toss. J Merlo was the highest scorer for the Kangaroos with 76 runs under his name.


For India, captain Prithvi Shaw became the first victim as he went for just 29 runs while another opener Manjot Kalra went on to make a century with 101 runs under his name. Shubman Gill and H Desai made 31 and 47 runs respectively.

India won the match with 67 balls remaining. Manjot Kalra was awarded with the Man of the match trophy while Shubman Gill got the Player of the series award. Australian women’s T20 World Cup victory against England was also nominated for the Fans’ moment of the year 2018.
