Veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh on Friday backed the viral fitness challenge 'HumFitTohIndiaFit' , which was initiated by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore earlier this week.

On May 22, Rathore took to his Twitter handle to urge Indian citizens towards adopting a fitter lifestyle by inviting them to post pictures and videos of their fitness attempts.

Along with his tweet, Rathore posted a video of himself wherein he could be seen speaking about the significance of fitness as stressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi before he went down to do ten push-ups. He also threw challenge to Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, and ace badminton shuttler Saina Nehwal.

Talking to ANI about the same, Harbhajan said that it is a really good initiative before he revealed that two or three people have also tagged him to take up the challenge.

"I have seen that Virat Kohli has tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the fitness challenge. Rajyavardhan Rathore had urged everyone to concentrate towards being fit. He is urging people to post pictures and videos of their fitness regimes. So, he is starting a kind of campaign. Some people have also tagged me. I have already been engaging in fitness. Now, I just have to upload my video," he said.

Harbhajan, further, called on people not to make it a one-video challenge and rather concentrate on making yourself fit on everyday basis.

"Fitness is not a challenge. It is a challenge for those who are not working towards fitness. It is a very good initiative. If a person is fit, he can make better decision. You should not make one video of yourself, but should make a video on everyday basis," the off-spinner said.

The Fit India movement was initiated by Prime Minister Modi in March, which has been gaining momentum since then. He even talked about the movement in April's Mann Ki Baat and released a 3D-animated video of himself depicting the 'Trikonasana' posture.

So far, Kohli, Amitabh Bachchan, PM Modi, Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, and Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal have taken up the challenge and posted messages and videos supporting the cause.
