Former Pakistan skipper Inzaman-ul-Haq has made up his mind to relinquish his post as the chief selector of the Pakistan national team. After Pakistan failed to qualify for the knock out stage in the recent World Cup edition, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided against extending Inzamam’s contract. Inzaman took the charge as the chief selector in August 2016 following his coaching spell with Afghanistan.

Of late, it was unveiled that Inzamam received 1.2 million Pakistan rupee (INR 5.1 lakh) a month while serving as the chief selector. According to Daily Express which was quoted by cricketpakistan.com.pk, Inzamam-ul-Haq earned over a staggering 60 million Pakistan Rupee (INR 2.50 crore) in the first three years as the chief selector.

As per the agreement, Inzamam-ul-Haq was given 25 per cent bonus for a series win and 100 per cent bonus if Pakistan had won an ICC event. After Pakistan cricket team won the Champions Trophy in 2017, where they defeated India in the final, Inzamam-ul Haq bagged 10 million Pakistan Rupees (INR 43.2 lakh) from the government.
