England's Jofra Archer says Australians are terrible at sledging

Playing in his maiden Ashes series, England’s Jofra Archer has accused the Australians of ‘terrible’ sledging. The 24-year old Barbados born cricketer was criticised for smiling after hitting Australian batsman Steve Smith with a brutal bouncer.

According to Jofra, someone from the Australian team sledged after he was dismissed in the third Test. “It was either Tim Paine or Matthew Wade but someone said ‘that is a great shot Jof’. You should never get complacent… the crowd started getting on their backs and I think they panicked a bit,” Fox Sports quoted Jofra as saying.

England was chasing a mammoth target of 359 runs and when Jofra Archer came in to bat at No. 9 with Ben Stokes on the other end, the host needed 100 runs to win and Australia needed just 2 wickets. Jofra scored 15 runs including three boundaries before he was dismissed by Nathan Lyon.

Jofra Archer is not the first player to accuse Tim Paine and his boys of sledging. During India tour of Australia last year in December, words were exchanged between Virat Kohli and Tim Paine. Tim Paine also had a verbal exchange with Rishabh Pant.
