The 11th season of the Indian Premier League did not see one of the legendary bowlers of our times, Dayle Steyn. No franchise participating in the auction 2018 showed interest in the South African pacer and he went unsold. He has been suffering from injuries for a long time now. Last time Dale Steyn played was when India went on the South African tour when Steyn participated in one of the matches and has been out of the game since then. Dale Steyn did not play in the series against Australia as well.

Facing the ankle injury, the 34-year-old pacer, Dale Steyn played his last test match against India. He has not played any match since then. Even in the match against India, Steyn got on the ground after a gap of 12 months. However, Dale Steyn may soon make a comeback.

In his test career spanning to 86 matches, he has taken 419 wickets. Whereas in the ODIs, there are 180 wickets in 116 matches in his name. Moreover, he has taken 42 wickets in 40 matches in his T20 career. Also, he has taken 92 wickets in 90 matches in his IPL career so far. He is just 2 wickets behind the great South African bowler Shaun Pollock.

Dale Steyn has signed a deal with Hampshire County Cricket Club that is to start from June and Dale Steyn could be seen playing after a long time. It will be a great joy for the cricket fans, witnessing the legend bowling again. He is just 34 years old and has a lot of cricket left in him.
