Good news for Virat Kohli & Co before Australia clash, this key bowler might be dropped

Nathan Coulter-Nile

Nathan Coulter-Nile played the ‘innings of his life’ to save Australia at Trent Bridge. Nathan’s 92-run knock helped Australia put a fighting total on board. Nathan was also awarded the man of the match trophy for his amazing innings.

But now Nathan’s inclusion in the team against India is under scanner as there are speculations that he might be dropped for the game and the reason behind the decision is his 0-wicket haul in the match. Nathan did not take any wickets in the match despite his role being one of the main bowlers.

“We've got two world-class (fast) bowlers (on the sidelines). I'm not in the team to make runs, hopefully the top order does that, so I wouldn't be surprised if I got dropped for the next game. I'm in the team to take wickets and I've had two wicketless games, so we'll see how we go,” Nathan was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

Nathan went wicket-less in Australia’s first World Cup match against Afghanistan which they eventually won by 7 wickets.

Australia will play against world number two India in their next game on June 9 at Kennington Oval. After playing against India, Australia will meet Pakistan on June 12.
