The win didn’t just see England qualify for the semi finals but it also improved their net run rate. It was their sixth win in nine matches, while the Kiwis suffered their third consecutive defeat, Pakistan have also been virtually eliminated form the race to the last four.

Three teams have now been qualified for the semi finals, New Zealand look the most likely addition for the forth spot.

For Sarfaraz led Pakistan to qualify, they need to bat first and defeat Bangladesh by atleast 311 runs if they put up a score of 350, or beat them by 316 runs if they post 400 or win by 321 runs margin if they manage to put up 450 runs.

If Pakistan bowls first then they will be knocked out even before the first ball is bowled at Lord's on Friday.
