#5. Bangladesh Premier League (Bangladesh)


Started in 2012, Bangladesh Premier League is one of the most popular T20 tournament from the sub-continent. It has grown as a brand and has a huge fan following. The BPL has 0.895 million followers on their official facebook page and 0.059 million followers on their twitter account. BPL doesn’t have an Instagram account.

Started in 2011, the Big Bash League is a T20 cricket tournament that takes place in Australia. The BBL is amongst the top most attended league in the world and has a huge fan following. The Australian league has 3.16 million followers on social media including facebook, twitter and instagram. BBL has 2.4 million facebook followers and 0.29 million twitter followers. BBL has 0.47 million followers in instagram.

#3. Caribbean Premier League (The Americas)

Started in 2013, The Caribbean Premier League is one of the most popular leagues in the world. The shortest format of the game is hugely popular in the Caribbean. Some of the most destructive T20 players are from the region. The CPL has 3.83 million followers on social media. CPL has 3.04 million followers on facebook, 0.18 followers on twitter and 0.25 followers on instagram.

Started in 2016, the Pakistan Super League is hugely popular in the Indian sub-continent. After the international cricket was banned from the country because of growing terrorism PSL came as a beacon of hope for the fans. Most of the PSL matches are held in UAE barring a few matches. PSL has a huge fan following on social media. PSL has 5.24 million followers including facebook, twitter and instagram. PSL has 3.9 million followers on facebook, 1.2 million on twitter and 0.44 million on instagram.

Started in 2008, the Indian Premier League is undoubtedly the most popular cricketing league in the world in all aspect. From television ratings to ground attendance IPL is on top of the chart. IPL is compared with English Premier League (football) and NBA (basketball) in terms of popularity. It rules the social media when it comes to cricket. IPL has a staggering 30.6 million followers on social media. It has 21 million followers on facebook, 6.5 million on twitter and 3.1 million on instagram.
