Video shows two ostriches running free on road; clip goes viral
It is rare to see ostriches running freely in traffic areas. But, some people in Lahore got this opportunity to see two ostriches on Canal Road in Lahore, Pakistan. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
In the video, an ostrich can be seen running right in the middle of Canal Road. Motorists and car drivers can be seen recording the incident on their mobile phones. A driver somehow managed to chase the big bird and captured the close-up side shot of ostrich, who was running carefree on the road.
According to a local news report, another ostrich was also running on the road while some locals tried to capture them for their safety as the birds were running in the middle of the road.

Unfortunately, one of the two birds died due to strangulation when people tried to capture it. According to Daily Pakistan, a man tightly held the bird from its neck due to which the bird’s windpipe got constricted and it choked to death.
The dead bird was removed from the road and an investigation has been ordered into the matter.
As per reports, the two ostriches had escaped from the outskirts of Lahore and managed to reach Muslim Town in Lahore.
Since the video is being surfaced on the Internet, it has left many baffled and questioned how the bird came on the road.
One of the users said, “Zoo keepers must be held accountable for this incident.”
While others said that the birds were running at full speed out of fear.
